Doctrinal Statement

New Wineskin Theological Seminary, is dedicated to teach from a doctrinal position, which, embraces the teaching of the great creeds of faith of the Christian Church to include but not limited to:
The Deity of Christ
The Sovereignty of God
The inerrancy of scripture
The great teachings of the Reformation
oSola scriptura
oSola fide
oSola gratia
oSolo Christo
oSoli Deo Gloria
Justification by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
The death burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Scripture contains the inspired words of God, and exist for the sole purpose of convincing mankind that Jesus is the Savior so that they can be lead to faith and trust in Him.  We believe that Jesus alone is the Word of God and that the gospel is the word of truth.  (John 5:39-40 & 2 Tim 3:16; John 1:1-3 & Eph 1:13)

We believe in one all-powerful God with three revealed personages; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit eternally existent.  We believe that the Incarnation happened at a moment in linear time and that since the resurrection, the fullness of the God Head resides in Christ Jesus bodily. (Deut 6:4 - Matt 3:16-17 - Col 1:19)

We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man; born of the Virgin Mary, that He perfectly pleased the Father while on the earth, that he was crucified for our sins, died and was buried in a tomb, that He rose from the grave for our justification, and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for those who believe.  We believe that Jesus had perfect faith in the Father and that this was His obedience. (John 1:1-3 ; Matt 1:20 ; 2 Cor 5:21 ;  Heb 8:1; Heb 11:6)

We believe that it is faith in Jesus plus nothing else that gives eternal life by the grace, mercy, and love of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe that those who put their faith and trust in the cleansing blood of Jesus are sealed with the indwelling Holy Spirit as a guarantee of their salvation at the first moment of exercising their faith, by confessing with their mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believing in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead. (Ephesians 1:13-14)(Romans 10:9, 10)

We believe that, belief and trust in the finished work of Christ Jesus on Calvary will produce the fruit of the Spirit (which is LOVE) in the heart of the believer. (John Chpt 15 & Galatians 5:22-23)

We believe that saving faith is faith that is best defined by three Hebrew words in the Old Testament.  All of these words were used as a description of faith.  They are Hasah, Batah, and Aman.  They mean that one must run to and cling to, one must lean on completely, and have settled confidence in the cleansing blood of Jesus through the gospel which is the story of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus on behalf of humanity.  This faith, given by God through the Holy Spirit, is a gift of grace.  Only those resting completely in the finished work of Jesus for all their righteousness are saved.

We believe that the scripture plainly teaches that we are under the "New Covenant" based on  "better promises."  This New covenant was instituted by our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus when He died on the cross for our sins, and arose from the grave for our justification and life. (Heb Chap 8)

We believe, that Jesus taught his disciples a new way of looking at the scripture.  This new view was solely Christ Centered.  This Christ centered view of scripture is the basis for all of the Apostles Doctrine.

We believe that by the grace of God we have been made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6)

We believe that by our faith in the redemption offered through Jesus, that we will one day be just like him.  (1 John 3:12)

We believe that water baptism is an outward confession of an inward reality. Water Baptism does not save, but rather is a public testimony of faith in Jesus. We believe that Peter taught that this baptism should be in Jesus name only. The baptism necessary for salvation is the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire.  We believe that Peter taught that the Gentiles must be baptized in water, in the name of Jesus, once they have received the gift of the Holy Ghost by faith (Acts 10:43) and that the Jews, of Jesus time, needed to be baptized with water (John's Baptism) for the remission of sins before they could recieve the baptism of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38). Once the temple was destroyed and the Jews were judged, the mode of baptism has been the same for Jew or Gentile.  In other words, it is the same baptism for Jew and Gentile as is recorded in Acts 10.

We believe that the commandments of Jesus are to believe that he is the risen Son of God, and to love one another as He has loved us. This can only be accomplished in our trusting in His love for us demonstrated by the cross. (1 John 3:23)

We believe in the finality of the cross and the reality of the resurrection. This means that the BLOOD OF JESUS ALONE WAS SUFFICIENT FOR OUR SALVATION AND NO OTHER  ACT WAS NECESSARY! NOT ON OUR PART OR HIS!
